Playoff Round 3: Walpole becomes the first U13 champions
From the Friday Night Lights Lacrosse website:
At Turco field, behind Walpole High School, Walpole’s U13 Rebels met the Franklin Panthers for the championship final. Both teams came to play and were amped up for a great game.
From the first face off Walpole took control of the game, but it quickly became a game of strong defenses at both ends of the field. Walpole took an early lead, 2-0, but by the half it was a 4-1 game.
Coming into the fourth quarter with a 5-2 lead, Walpole was very aware of Franklin’s ability to come back strong in the final quarter (ask Norwood). Franklin pressured Walpole’s transition game with strong physical play, but in the end Walpole became the first U13 Friday Night Lights champions with a score of 6-2.
