What is WalpoleSports.org?
WalpoleSports.org is a website supporting youth and high school sports in Walpole, Massachusetts
WalpoleSports.org can be considered a portal, or a gateway, to the many different websites which support Walpole families and their young athletes. This is a jumping off point, or a consolidation of the youth athletic websites, as well as a news and opinion website regarding youth sports, coaching, sportsmanship, and everything in between.
The website currently posts original WalpoleSports.org news and opinion pieces as well as the latest news from the following youth sports websites: Walpole Youth Football & Cheer, Walpole Youth Lacrosse, Friday Night Lights Lacrosse, Walpole Youth Soccer Association, Walpole Youth Basketball Association, Walpole Girls Softball Association, and WHS Lacrosse; as well as Walpole youth and high school sports related news from Wicked Local Walpole, The Rebellion (WHS’s student run newspaper), and Topix.com, a news aggregation site . It is the purpose of WalpoleSports.org to keep you informed of the updates on these external websites, and to provide direct links to those news items; a Walpole sports portal.
WalpoleSports.org will also keep tabs on the high school athletics schedule for both Walpole High School and Norfolk County Agricultural High School by utilizing HighSchoolSports.net (WHS & NCAHS Athletics schedule). Here is this week’s WHS schedule and NCAHS schedule. Are you looking for Walpole Rec’s latest information? You’ll find their up-to-date twitter posts on nearly every page of the website (see over there on the right?).
By subscribing to the WalpoleSports.org RSS feed you will be kept up to date with news from many of the local Walpole youth athletics websites.
A little history…
WalpoleSports.org was originally created as a means to consolidate the Walpole Youth Lacrosse League (WYLL) and Walpole Youth Football and Cheerleading (WYFC) websites under a single domain. Prior to the consolidation, the 2 separate websites were managed by a single person, but hosted by 2 different companies and running on two different platforms.
Today, WalpoleSports.org proper strives to become a clearing house of youth and high school athletics information; a jumping off point or portal to the many different youth and high school websites which support Walpole families and young athletes.
Whereas the lacrosse and football websites remain a read-only experience, WalpoleSports.org allows for a more interactive conversation around youth sports topics.
