Read the entire article on the Wicked Local Walpole website:

In anticipation of a very large crowd, Walpole High Athletic Director Bill Tompkins has announced that WHS will be conducting pre-game sales of tickets for Saturday’s football game between the undefeated Walpole and Natick teams.

The pre-game sales are meant to alleviate any possible long lines at the game, whixch could cause fans to miss some of the game while waiting to get in.

With the unbeaten teams locked in a battle for the Bay State Conference title as well as the playoff berth that goes with it, and featuring two of the best players in the state in Walpole tailback Ryan Izzo and Natick quarterback Scott McCummings, the biggest crowd in many years could be on hand.

The move to sell pre-game tickets is only to alleviate possible problems and make it easier for fans and game personnel however, advises Tompkins. He notes that ticket prices for the game will be the same as they …

Walpole Porkers gain Div. 1 South title game with 8-2 win

Read the entire article on the Wicked Local Walpole website:

Caroline Malone vs Mansfield

One has to feel for the Mansfield High field hockey team.
An excellent program with only one loss and high hopes gets to meet the defending Div. 1 South champion Walpole Porkers in Taunton for the right to play Hopkinton in this year’s south title game.
Unfortunately for the Hornets, they caught the Porkers when they were at their best yesterday, and suffered the consequences.
Led by Caroline Malone’s hat trick, Walpole High rolled to victory over the Hornets, 8-2, setting up the expected showdown between the top-seeded Porkers and second-seeded Hopkinton at Taunton High Sunday night under the lights. Game time is 7:00pm.
The game was originally scheduled for Saturday in Taunton, but as per WHS Athletic Director Bill Tompkins’ request, the game was pushed back a day by the MIAA so Walpole sports fans can see both Saturday’s football showdown with Natick and the field hockey showdown with Hopkinton.
   The Hornets, who …

Hannah Rockwood vs D-Y

It was a bad day for Dolphins all around Sunday.
While the Miami species was getting set back at Gillette Stadium by Randy Moss and Tom Brady, the Dennis-Yarmouth variety was also losing, just up Washington Street at Turco Field.
Neither Dolphins team did especially badly, it’s just that the hosts – at Gillette the New England Patriots and at Turco the Walpole Porkers – were doing a bit better.
Despite facing the toughest man-to-man defense they had seen all year, the defending Div. 1 South champ Porkers survived a tenacious Dennis-Yarmouth, 2-1, propelling them into Wednesday’s 3:00 semifinal at Taunton High School against fourth-seeded Mansfield, which beat Bay State Herget rival Wellesley, 1-0, on Sunday.
The Hornets, who used tough defense to get the win, are known for their offense but the Porkers had a perfect warm-up for Wednesday’s bout when the Dolphins gave them everything they could handle.
Fortunately Walpole got the jump in a game scoreless for the first …
